Sausage Time

A view from my back porch…

  It`s a tradition around here after Thanksgiving its country sausage making time on the Old Mule Farms. With our weather cooperating in the cooler department fresh hog meat met the ole meat grinder over the weekend. Armed with my secret old mule sausage spice mixture I managed to put up pounds of ground sausage not to mention stuffing several miles of casings.

   There is just something about making your own. I think any good pioneer homestead in the early days had their own methods. For us it always yields that age old historical taste that can`t be found anywhere else. What can be said other than that's how we do it…………………………..Dan
